[edit] Progress Report
First of all, thanks to all of you guys still looking in on Wikid Bikers even if I couldn't spend as much time as I'd like over here since the holidays. Hopefully, that should change soon as I'm now back to working from home for the whole summer.
Yeah, that's right, summer ! Man, it feels good just writing about it !
What's most likely to happen is that I'll probably try to built up the article base by creating pages for all these bookmarks and business cards I picked up last september at the Art Tattoo Montreal convention. I obviously wanted to do a little research and add some meat around these bones as I'm going along but I don't think my schedule will allow it this summer. So if you guys want to give a hand, follow your favorite link, click the Edit button and give a shot at adding infos. And don't worry about messing anything up; with a wiki, everything can always be fixed later on.
The second thing most likely to happen is that I'll try to push forward the "personal" aspect of this website. As I've said before, this wiki isn't just about bikes and tattoos but should be about YOUR bikes, YOUR tattoos. I'll try to continue to fill out the templates of what I'd like to achieve here with some personal content of my own and hopefully by the end of summer, I would like to have a "guided tour" section for those of you that feel lost with a Web 2.0 website to show you what it's all about.
In the meantime, a Browse link was silently added to the sidebar. This will provide our users with a direct link to the root category of this website from any page for a smoother user experience.
Another feature that I've been working on this winter has been silently introduced and seems to work well enough by itself to keep it around : the Wikid Bikers Mashup.
For those of you not familiar with the concept, it's basically an aggregation of news feeds from various sources in a single location for reading convenience. Since this website was created after realizing how hard it was to find anything decent concerning bikes and tattoos on the web, I figured this new tool may be helpful to a few of you out there. Let me know what you think about it and don't hesitate to leave me a message if you find an interesting feed that I should add to the list - self promotion included of course !
[edit] Parting Words
The Internet is a great tool for communication so go ahead, communicate ! I'd love to hear from you guys about ideas and suggestions for this website. Drop me an email using this form and I'll try to answer it ASAP.
Now if I can only get an apointment at my local bike shop, I could finally get things rolling again ; )
Ciao,
Stéphane
